This action relates to the experience of introversion and acute self-awareness that arises from the dynamic between performer and audience member.

By weaving a cotton cocoon around themselves using thread and a bedsheet, the performer is protected from the gaze of those watching them- and is free to benefit from the metamorphosis that can occur during calm private contemplation with one's self.

The cocoon is also a motif for death - particularly in allusion to the death shrouds that are commonly used in North African cultures.
